NatWest Accelerator has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to support UK startups by offering access to cutting-edge AI tools, cloud technology, and expert-led training. The partnership aims to equip emerging businesses with the digital capabilities required to accelerate their growth and compete effectively in the modern economy.
According to research conducted by NatWest, data-driven businesses consistently make faster, smarter decisions — giving them a strong competitive edge. In a survey of 1,000 companies across 10 industries, 92% of “future-fit” businesses reported using data analysis to guide most or all major decisions. These forward-thinking companies are also nearly twice as likely to have implemented AI tools compared to the average business surveyed.
To help UK startups harness these advantages, Google Cloud will deliver hands-on AI and digital marketing training through NatWest’s Accelerator hubs across the country and the NatWest Accelerator app. In addition, eligible startups will receive Google Cloud credits, allowing them to build, test, and scale operations on secure and scalable infrastructure — lowering technical and financial barriers to AI adoption.
The partnership also extends to the NatWest Accelerator Pitch competition, a new £1 million initiative funded by NatWest to identify and support the UK’s next wave of innovative entrepreneurs. The competition’s finale will take place on Thursday, July 31st, in Manchester, where five entrepreneurs will present 15-minute pitches outlining their business journeys and growth plans. One winner will walk away with a £70,000 prize, based on criteria including innovation, business model strength, and the potential impact of the funding.
Darren Pirie, Head of the NatWest Group Accelerator, shared:
“The NatWest Accelerator continues to unlock growth for small businesses across the UK — helping them increase revenue, attract investment, and scale efficiently. As technology evolves, we’re committed to helping our customers stay ahead. With Google’s global expertise in AI and cloud, we’re providing entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources they need to embrace digital transformation and grow confidently.”
Darren Mowry, Vice President of Global Startups at Google Cloud, added:
“Google Cloud is proud to partner with NatWest to help UK startups thrive. Through this collaboration, we’re offering entrepreneurs access to world-class digital tools, resources, and training to help them innovate and scale their ventures.”
Together, NatWest and Google Cloud are creating a powerful ecosystem for startups — fostering innovation, improving access to technology, and driving long-term business success across the UK.
