The British Business Bank has announced an increased commitment to Beach Point Capital UK’s dedicated SME lending fund, raising its total support to £50 million. This move aims to expand lending capacity and support small businesses with high-growth potential throughout the UK.
The Bank originally partnered with the fund in July 2022. Since then, Beach Point Capital UK has invested in 26 businesses across all UK regions, with a strong focus on Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the North of England. These flexible loans have helped businesses scale operations, create jobs, and contribute to regional economic growth.
The fund had initially targeted a minimum investment of £10 million into Northern Irish SMEs. That target has already been exceeded, with £16 million invested and another £3 million committed to four high-growth SMEs in the region.
With the increased support from the British Business Bank, Beach Point Capital UK will be able to continue addressing the growing demand for flexible growth capital. The fund remains focused on fast-growing, smaller businesses in the UK and Ireland, particularly those based in regional markets.
