Scottish Widows has kicked off a six-month trial with Adclear, a leading FinProm compliance platform, to explore how artificial intelligence can streamline and safeguard its marketing compliance workflows.
Adclear is widely recognised as the UK’s most sophisticated financial promotions review engine. Its AI-driven system supports marketing teams across the financial sector by checking content against FCA rules and supplying a detailed audit trail for compliance teams. With the ability to review written, visual, and video content, the platform helps businesses maintain top-tier compliance standards without slowing down campaign delivery.
The software rapidly scans marketing materials, evaluates them against relevant regulations, and highlights areas that may require attention. By cutting review times by 88%, Adclear significantly reduces the lengthy approval cycles that typically slow down marketing and compliance functions.
Through this pilot, Scottish Widows aims to empower its award-winning marketing team to deliver impactful campaigns faster, while easing pressure on compliance colleagues. As part of Lloyds Banking Group—Britain’s largest digital bank—other Group divisions are also keeping a close eye on the pilot’s results.
Lloyds Banking Group now joins other major industry adopters of Adclear, including Plum, Yonder, FreeTrade, Trade Nation, and a leading UK neobank, all leveraging AI to modernise marketing compliance and refine content creation processes.
Adclear’s CEO and co-founder, Doni Hoti, said: “Speed and flexibility are vital for today’s marketers, but moving fast must never compromise compliance, accuracy or customer trust—especially in finance. Adclear is built to bridge that gap, allowing teams to create dynamic content while staying fully compliant. Lloyds is known for being ahead of the curve, and their adoption of our technology highlights their commitment to innovation and integrity. We’re excited to help them unlock a new era of compliant content creation.”
Maria Herrero-Bullich, Chief Customer & Digital Officer at Scottish Widows, added: “This new AI capability will help us communicate more clearly and quickly with our customers, ensuring they have easy access to the products and services available to them. With more customers managing pensions and financial products through our app and digital channels, clarity and transparency in our communications are more important than ever.”
