Sweden-based financial platform, Juni, has extended its partnership with Salt Edge to introduce advanced Open Banking capabilities, providing customers with a more streamlined and integrated financial experience. The two companies first joined forces in 2020 through Salt Edge’s Partner Program for Account Information Services (AIS), enabling Juni to seamlessly access data from over 2,500 banks across the European Union. This latest expansion builds on their collaboration, aimed at meeting evolving customer needs while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
Compliance and Enhanced Customer Experience
Operating in a heavily regulated industry, Juni prioritizes compliance, particularly with the PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) requirements. To ensure seamless integration of Open Banking services, Juni has chosen Salt Edge to handle both connector and exemption services, allowing the fintech company to delegate technical and compliance aspects. This partnership reduces the need for in-house management of Open Banking capabilities, enabling Juni to focus on its primary goal: delivering optimised financial tools while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Juni’s representatives highlighted that the introduction of Open Banking features will provide customers with a more comprehensive and integrated financial solution. Additionally, the strengthened partnership allows Juni to offer Account Information Services (AIS) and Payment Initiation Services (PIS) across a broader financial ecosystem. This expanded access will further embed Juni’s services into other platforms, enhancing the overall banking experience for users.
Salt Edge’s Role in Supporting Juni’s Growth
Officials from Salt Edge emphasized their commitment to simplifying the technical complexities of Open Banking compliance for financial institutions like Juni. By managing these intricacies, Salt Edge allows Juni to focus on innovation and expanding its financial offerings. This partnership extension comes shortly after Salt Edge’s collaboration with Erste Group, where they introduced secure multi-banking services in the CEE (Central and Eastern European) region. Backed by the expertise of both companies, that initiative aimed to enhance multi-banking functionalities for retail and corporate clients via the George banking app and ErsteConnect API.
This strategic partnership between Juni and Salt Edge not only improves customer experiences but also strengthens their foothold in the ever-evolving financial landscape, where compliance and user-friendly services are paramount.
