Italian banking group Sella has taken a significant step in promoting innovation within the financial technology sector by launching an international incubation program specifically designed for startups specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) in finance.
The program, facilitated by Sella’s venture incubator dpixel, aims to provide comprehensive support to pre-seed startups, entrepreneurial teams, researchers, and university spin-offs. Participants will have access to personalized mentoring, exclusive masterclasses, and the opportunity to develop their selected projects within Banca Sella. Additionally, the program will grant participants access to the expertise and assistance of professionals, entrepreneurs, and founders associated with Fintech District, an open ecosystem fostering collaboration within the Italian fintech community.
Sella is particularly interested in applicants utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as deep learning, machine learning, generative models, and synthetic data across various financial domains. Potential areas of focus include financial prediction, automated coding, predictive analytics, document processing, custom finance solutions, direct lending, market research, compliance and fraud detection, as well as credit scoring.
The program is structured to span seven months and comprises four distinct phases: application submission, the selection of ten participants, an intensive “sprint period” for project development, and a culminating presentation day where participants showcase their achievements.
It is worth noting that Sella previously organized a similar program dedicated to exploring opportunities within the metaverse domain. However, this latest initiative specifically targets AI-driven fintech startups, reflecting Sella’s commitment to fostering innovation and driving technological advancements within the financial industry.
