Temenos (SIX: TEMN), a global leader in banking software, has announced groundbreaking results from a high-performance scalability benchmark of its cloud-native core banking platform on Microsoft Azure. The results will be shared at the Temenos Community Forum 2025.
The benchmark simulated operations for a major digital bank serving 25 million customers and managing 50 million accounts. The system successfully processed 16,600 transactions per second, while also handling demanding AI workloads—demonstrating industry-leading scalability, speed, and sustainability.
This comprehensive test validated the full capabilities of Temenos’ cloud-native solutions, including core banking, digital banking, payments, data hub, and AI services. Running on Microsoft Azure Cobalt 100 ARM-based infrastructure, the test achieved over 40% higher efficiency compared to the previous 2024 benchmark, setting a new standard in cloud banking performance.
Driving Scalable and Sustainable Banking
Temenos’ lean and sustainable architecture—designed for performance and minimal cloud footprint—helps banks meet growing customer expectations, scale on demand, and adopt AI-driven innovation without increasing hardware requirements.
The benchmark also tested Temenos’ banking APIs integrated with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, proving readiness for AI and Generative AI (Gen AI) applications in real-world banking environments.
A recent Hanover Research survey, commissioned by Temenos, reveals strong industry momentum toward AI. Findings include:
- 75% of banks are exploring Generative AI deployment
- 82% are investing in tech to improve operational efficiency
- Among adopters, 43% plan to increase AI investment this year
